Scott B. Waller founder of Straight and Level, LLC is a licensed Connecticut home inspector who’s had an extensive career in the construction industry, with experience in masonry, framing, siding, roofing, flooring, and excavation. His knowledge of the principles of construction and attention to detail are unmatched, honed through years of hands-on work in the field. He has personally been involved in over one hundred inspections in the past year alone.
Beginning his construction experience at age 14 as a laborer for a mason, he learned the principles of what makes a fireplace and chimney work, as well as the physics behind them. He went on to work for a builder at age 16, where he learned the principles of framing, siding, roofing, trim, flooring, and everything associated with building additions. At 18, he began working for an excavation company and learned to operate a multitude of heavy equipment, eventually working on large-scale projects such as Wimbledon Court in Easton, CT.
After pursuing a degree in aviation, our founder returned to his construction roots, working for Stevenson Lumber and learning the maternal side of construction from framing to trim and everything in between. Before beginning his aviation career, flying for over 30 years with American Airlines
He is a licensed Home Inspector issued by the state of Connecticut, as well as an Airline Transport Pilot with multiple type ratings, including Boeing 727, B757, B767, B777, B787, HS125-800, C550, and more. His construction experience combined with his career in aviation has given him the know-how, and a level of attention to detail that make him a valuable asset in the home inspection field.
